Read to the end of Act I on page 46 (by Tuesday morning please) and write a paragraph in your notes explaining how each of the main characters (Eddie, Beatrice, Rudolpho, Marco, Catehrine) develops in Act I. Your should also include three quotations per character. I will look at you paragraphs in the lesson on Thursday 29th.
English Homework!
ReplyDeleteIn a view from the bridge Eddies character develops into a jealous and that he cannot let go of Catharine character at the end of act one;
“I’m ashamed. Paper Doll they call him Blondie now.”
“You’re getting to be a big girl now.”
“When am I going to be your wife again. Eddie?”
All of these quotes show that Eddies character develops a lot because lots of things happen to him like he starts to hate Rodolphio because of his relationship with Catharine and that Beatrice is putting the puzzle together as she starts to find out about eddies thing for Catherine. The word “again” from the third quote shows that Eddie has not been Beatrice’s wife for some time which means Eddies felling for Catharine have been going on for some time and it’s only now that Beatrice has realised or has she seen this for some time.
In a view from the bridge Catharine’s character develops into a more mature and grown up character but she is still all ways trying to please eddie;
“He still thinks I’m a baby”
“You don’t like it”
this shows that Catherine has developed as a character because she is looking more like an adult
Eddie is a man of pride and likes to do it like a man thought the play you see him trying to be a man and have pride for him and himself,
